FinOps Report

Learn how to view all recommendations in one place, customize their appearance and download them in a few clicks

Updated this week

The FinOps Report page is a compact collection of recommendations from your account or accounts. For greater convenience and visibility, you can customize the fields that will be displayed in the table and when downloading the Excel file.

Let's see how it works:

Click on the FinOps Report button on the left side menu.

The FinOps Report page looks like this:

Let's set up our table for comfortable and useful use. To do this, click on the gear icon next to the filter.

All columns are selected and displayed by default:

To remove a column from the table, uncheck the checkbox next to the column name in the ‘Customise table’ window and click the ‘Accept Changes’ button.

For example, check the checkbox opposite Estimated Savings and click the "Accept Changes" button.

Now, you do not see the Estimated Savings column on the FinOps Report tab.

If you click the Save in Excel button and open the file, you will see that the columns match the table on the website.

Moreover, you can filter recommendations by specific options such as Type, Region, Savings type, Priority and Assignee.

The display of recommendations in the Excel file will correspond to the filtered values and will coincide with the information in the table.

For example, if you select High Priority in the filter and click the Apply Filter button, the table will display only recommendations with High in the Priority column.

If you save the file to Excel and open it, you will see that the data corresponds to what is shown on the FinOps Reports page after applying the filter

Also, you can use any group. To do such a thing, simply click on Non-group opposite the Group by heading and select the desired one. For example, this will be the Service group.

Now, when you upload an Excel file, the recommendations in it will also be grouped by Service.

There are also fields available for your editing, such as Priority, Due date and Assignee

You can use the Details button (you will be redirected to the corresponding page where this resource is located) or Archive (the recommendation will be archived on the corresponding pages, you can view or unarchive them on the Archived page, and all users will see the recommendation on the Archived page after you archive it)

On the Summary tab, you see a summary of all your potential savings categorized by type. It displays a list of all the features contributing to cost-saving strategies, along with the potential savings associated with each resource category. Descriptions are provided to give you a brief understanding of each saving option. When you click on 'View Suggestions,' you'll be directed to a specific feature where you can review and decide whether to take action or archive the suggestion.

On the Archiving page, you can view archived resources and unarchive them if necessary using the corresponding buttons.

On the FinOps Report page, you'll also find the multi-account function. Wondering how to use it? Look at the top of the page and click on the 'Accounts' section.

You can select multiple accounts from the same provider or across different providers. All active accounts are available for selection, and you can choose all accounts by clicking the corresponding button in the dropdown menu.

Now, you can view information for all selected accounts.

Please note that if you lack the necessary permissions in your account, you may not have access to all potential savings. In such cases, a warning message will be displayed at the top of the page.
