Learn how to access detailed information about your cloud expenses

Updated over a week ago

This feature provides a deeper insight into your expenses. Billing offers a clear view and understanding of your spending for each asset and how you can optimize your savings. This chart can be sorted by account, region, service, and more. It can also display totals on a monthly, weekly, or even daily basis, allowing you to set the period on the calendar as per your preferences.

When adjusting the Show options slider, you can choose whether to display estimated costs and credits.

Below is the Summary pie chart, presenting your actual, overall, and estimated cloud costs.

In the Group by option, you can select a specific group to display from the drop-down list. Depending on your selection in the first drop-down list, the X-axis drop-down list group will change accordingly.

When you click on ‘Details’, you can access the same information as in the previous chart in the form of a table. You can also add notes and choose colours to indicate priority.

When it comes to multi-account billing, each account is colour-coded, and hovering over them reveals pertinent information. This holds for the ‘Detailed’ tab as well.

Furthermore, you can explore cost-saving insights and save this table in XLSX or CSV format.

When you click ‘Save to Excel,’ you will have two options for saving the table: save all data or save the currently grouped data.

CSV works similarly to Excel.

Billing offers a wide range of resource filtering options. AWS, GCP, and Azure each have their filters. You can filter by Detailed Service, Instance Type, Operation, Purchase Type, Record Type, Region, and Usage Type.

Sankey

You have the opportunity to visualize your expenses more comprehensively with Sankey. To display it, follow these steps:

Step 1. Pick any grouping, besides CostAndSavings.

  • Step 2. Select any second grouping besides 'Time Period.'

  • Step 3. Scroll down and observe the Sankey visualization.

A pop-up with additional information will appear when you hover over it.

Billing drop-down

Billing drill-down is not available for Groups by: Labels, Accounts, CostAndSavings, Service and ServiceCategory

Select group by, on the X-axis that must be chosen TimePeriod, then click on any part of the graph and press the ‘Show Resources’ button in the pop-up, you will see data about only the corresponding resource.

You will see a graph like this:

This graph does not offer the selection of accounts, grouping, and x-axis. You can use all granularity and filters, and save them to Excel and calendar.

You can see detailed information by hovering over the graph.

Below the diagram, you can view a list of resources according to the diagram. You can open these resources in Cloudlist, Cloudmap, or Cloudnet by clicking on the ‘...’ button and selecting Cloudview type:

Billing K8s

If you have AWS and Azure providers, you can access the ‘K8s Billing’ tab. Here, you'll find basic information about your account costs and savings. You can view the information in the form of charts and group it based on various options for a more in-depth expense analysis. You can also access a Sankey chart or view expenses on the ‘K8s details’ tab, where the information is presented in a table that can be customized to your preferences.

Budget

Furthermore, you can set a budget limit here. To do so, click on ‘Budget Notifications’ to set the budget limit. You can create limits for one or more accounts and one or more regions, either monthly or weekly. Fill in all the required information and then click ‘Save.’ The budget can be indicated by a yellow or red icon. Yellow indicates that it's close to the limit, while red means the limit has been exceeded. Uniskai will provide personalized and accurate forecasts, empowering you to plan and optimize your cloud infrastructure effectively.

On the right side of the budget, you can see a graph displaying the selected notification type.

In the ‘Budgets’ section, you can set budget limits that encompass all your accounts.

You can adjust your costs by dragging this line:

If the budget limit is exceeded, you will receive an email from Uniskai, as shown below.

Within the Uniskai platform, you will receive bell notifications at the top right. Click ‘View Details’ to examine your budget limit in more detail.

When you click ‘View Details,’ you will access all the information about your budget limit. You can edit your budget limit directly from this dialogue or click ‘Got it’ to review the changes later.

If the budget notification does not exceed the spending forecast and current costs, the bell icon is grey.

However, if it exceeds the spending forecast, the bell icon turns yellow.

And if it exceeds current spending, the bell icon becomes red.
