Spotting policies are a useful feature for organizing your resources based on specific criteria. You can apply a spotting policy to all resources except for ES2. To create or manage spotting policies, click the corresponding button to access the 'Spotting Policies' tab.
Within the 'Spotting Policies' tab, you'll find a default policy with a 100% spot allocation. However, you have the flexibility to customize this policy at any time. To edit the default policy, simply click on the appropriate button. Please note that the default policy cannot be removed.
If you wish to create your own policy, click on the corresponding button.
You'll be prompted to enter a policy name, which should not exceed 64 characters.
Additionally, you can add resources and specify the percentage allocation for each resource's spot versus the overall percentage for the policy. You can modify these percentages as needed and even choose to add resources later if you prefer.
When you spot resources other than EC2 instances and select 'Convert to Spot' or 'Start Managing,' a pop-up window will display, showing the assigned spotting policy.
Upon clicking 'Convert to Spot,' you'll encounter a confirmation dialog that requires you to confirm your decision. This dialog also provides an estimate of the cost savings associated with the specific Spot instance.
Notes: Please note that initially, your resource will appear with a 100% spot percentage, but within a few minutes, it will adjust to match your policy settings.
Successfully converting to Spot will result in the AWS Console reflecting the percentage distribution according to your policy. For instance, if your policy allocates 70% to spot and 30% to on-demand, your resource will display 70% as spot and 30% as on-demand in the AWS console. Changes made in Uniskai will also be updated in AWS.
You have the option to modify the percentage allocation after converting to Spot. Simply access the spot policy for the converted resource and make the necessary adjustments.
Then, check the AWS console to confirm that the percentage values have been updated.
To delete a spotting policy, click on the three dots and select 'Remove.' Keep in mind that the default policy cannot be removed.
Note: If you delete a policy that was assigned to resources, those resources will revert to the default policy, with spot percentages following the policy's settings.
To duplicate an existing policy, click on the three dots and choose 'Clone.'
You can also sort the columns by clicking on them.
