Uniskai AI Assistant

Learn how Uniskai Ai Assistant can help you

Updated this week

Introduction to the Uniskai AI Assistant

The Uniskai AI Assistant is an integrated intelligent helper inside the Uniskai platform.
Its primary purpose is to assist users in navigating the platform, understanding cloud cost data, explaining FinOps recommendations, generating reports, and interacting with support functionality.

The Assistant works with natural language queries and adapts to your current context, helping you move through Uniskai efficiently and confidently.

Accessing the AI Assistant

Access the Assistant anytime from the main navigation:

Left navigation panel → above Help & Support → Uniskai AI Assistant.

When opened, the Assistant displays suggested starter questions, allowing you to begin interacting instantly. Simply tap any suggestion to get an immediate explanation without typing.

Additionally, when you visit the Cost Overview page for the first time in a new session, a welcome modal may appear offering quick access to the Assistant.

User Questions and Interaction:

Users can ask the Assistant anything regarding cloud costs, platform behavior, FinOps recommendations, anomalies, account setup, or navigation.

The Assistant interprets your request, analyzes the relevant context, and provides a direct explanation.

Examples:

  • “Show me the AWS billing this month”

  • “Explain this FinOps recommendation”

  • “Why do I have anomalies today?”

  • “How do I add a new AWS account?”

Session Persistence:

Closing the Assistant does not remove your conversation.
When reopened, you will return to the exact point where you left off, with full message history preserved until you choose to clear it.

To reset the conversation, click Clear Chat at the top of the panel. After confirmation, the Assistant returns to the home screen with default suggested questions.

Clearing the Conversation:

At the top of the Assistant panel, there is a Clear Chat button.

Upon confirmation, the conversation is erased, and the Assistant returns to the initial home screen with default suggested questions.

Functional Capabilities of the Uniskai AI Assistant

The AI Assistant can respond to any typed user query, including both general cloud questions (cost optimization, anomalies, unused resources, Kubernetes, etc.) and questions specific to the Uniskai platform (how to add accounts, how to configure anomaly settings, how to use Waste, Cloudlist, etc.).

It analyzes the context of the question and returns the most relevant explanation or action. This applies to:

  • Cloud cost questions

  • Platform navigation help

  • Resource-specific inquiries

  • FinOps recommendation questions

  • Provider-specific cost questions (AWS / Azure / GCP)

The Assistant can calculate your billing and redirect you to the Cost Overview page and select corresponding filters:

The Assistant can calculate and display billing details for AWS, Azure, and GCP. It understands both simple and advanced queries involving regions, resources, grouping, accounts, time ranges, and multi-cloud comparisons.

Examples:

  • “Show me AWS billing this month”

  • “How much did my us-east-1 region cost last month?”

  • “What is my Azure VM spend over the last 14 days?”

If the user is not on the Billing page, the Assistant displays an explanation and a "Let's Go" button that redirects them to the Cost Overview/Billing page.

This automatically selects the cloud provider and applies the necessary filters (regions, time range, grouping) to display the requested data. If the user is already on the Billing page, the filters are applied automatically.

FinOps Capabilities:

FinOps capabilities are divided into three core features:

  1. General FinOps report (tab FinOps report)

  2. Resource explanations (tab FinOps report)

  3. FinOps AI Summary (AI Finops Summary)

Below is the detailed structure.

“Explain with AI” on the FinOps Report Tab (General Recommendations):

On the FinOps Report tab, users see a full list of optimization recommendations across all cloud resources associated with the selected account.

At the top right of this tab, there is the main button:

Explain with AI:

Clicking "Explain with AI" automatically opens the AI Assistant, which generates a high-level explanation of the FinOps Report.

This explanation summarizes overall optimization patterns, key cost-saving themes, highest-impact recommendations, a breakdown by resource categories, potential savings, and short-term and long-term optimization strategies.

Resource AI Explanation (Bird Button per Resource):

In the FinOps Report tab, each resource row features a bird icon that, when selected, opens the AI Assistant.

This action sends “FinOps recommendation explanation: ‘name’” to the AI, which then generates a resource explanation that includes the recommendation title, a description of the identified issue (e.g., unused or overprovisioned resource), the resource name, region, monthly cost, the reason for recommending optimization, a business value summary with expected savings, recommended action steps, and an optional follow-up question from the Assistant.

This allows the user to understand each optimization individually.

Explain with AI Availability Limit:

The Explain with AI button provides a general FinOps overview, but it is available only when the FinOps Report contains 100 recommendations or fewer.

If your account has more than 100 recommendations, the system hides the main Explain with AI button to prevent excessively large summary requests.

When this limit is exceeded:

  • The top-level Explain with AI button is not displayed.

  • You can still use AI explanations for individual resources via the bird icon located in each recommendation row.

  • Each resource explanation remains fully functional and provides a detailed FinOps context for that specific recommendation.

This behavior ensures that the Assistant processes recommendations efficiently and delivers accurate, meaningful insights.

AI FinOps Summary:

Second major tab in the FinOps section. This part is generated entirely by the AI Assistant.

The following explains possible situations you may encounter.

When Data is Not Available:

If the FinOps summary isn't immediately available, it will appear shortly.

When Data Is Available

AI generates a Cloud Cost Optimization Report (current month) displaying: Current Spend Overview, Saving Opportunities, Top Recommendation, and Cost Structure Weaknesses. Save to PDF option available.

Support Integration Capabilities:

AI Assistant is the first point of contact for chat support, replacing the support sidebar. Users can ask product, support, or cost-related questions, and the AI will respond accordingly.

Support Fallback:

If the AI cannot fulfill the request, you may ask for help from a real support person, and the Assistant will show a fallback message:

“I’m sorry, I can’t assist further – please reach our support team.”

Clicking the Contact Support button opens a persistent Support Sidebar that remains visible across navigation and theme changes. It closes only when the browser tab is closed and does not reopen automatically in new sessions.
